The island has a castle a gift shop, a cafe, and an outdoor centre - you could be lucky enough to see one of the native red squirrels. The town has a vast number of shops, a shopping centre, supermarkets, a choice of restaurants, cafes and pubs.

Canford Cliffs beach is a tranquil area with a steep, sandy cliff that is a haven for wildlife and is a great beach to relax on. Branksome Beach allows pets all year round. There is also a sandy harbour beach to visit at the nearby village of Hamworthy.
