The Old Chapel is a lovely chapel conversion nestled in the village of Sturminster Marshall, Dorset. Hosting one double and one twin, sleeping a total of four guests and with their own en-suite shower rooms. Downstairs has a ground-floor cloakroom with basin and WC, an open-plan kitchen/diner, utility, separate dining room and sitting room. Outside has an enclosed decking and gravelled area with furniture, as well as off-road parking. The Old Chapel is a wonderful choice for a rural break to Dorset.
Dating from 1876 and set on the village green, The Old Chapel has been renovated to a very high standard as reflected in its 5 star rating. Located in the quiet village of Sturminster Marshall you can step back in time with many pretty, thatched cottages, commemorative oak trees and even a maypole. Perfectly located, you are close to the village pub and general stores, the New Forest is about a 15 minute drive away and the whole Jurassic Coast is within easy exploring distance. You have miles of golden sandy beaches at Poole, Bournemouth and Sandbanks or stay inland and enjoy the stunning Dorset countryside.
The accommodation at The Old Chapel comprises a large, modern kitchen/diner with large doors that lead out to the pretty courtyard garden. The kitchen comes very well equipped with range style electric cooker with ceramic hob and 1 and 1/2 ovens, microwave, American style fridge/freezer with a cold water supply and ice maker and dishwasher. The dining area has an oak table and leather chairs and there is a utility area with a washing machine and tumble dryer. A cloakroom with a basin and toilet rounds off the ground floor.
Up the open tread spiral staircase to the first floor to the mezzanine lounge with 3 leather sofas, one of which can convert to a double bed, 47" TV, DVD player, iPod dock and WiFi. Views over the formal dining area and further views across the village green.
Back on the ground floor are the two en-suite bedrooms. The double bedroom has a 4ft 6in double bed, a wall-mounted flat-screen TV and en-suite shower room with double shower enclosure, hand basin, toilet, shaver point and heated towel rail. The twin bedroom has two 3ft single beds, a wall-mounted flat-screen TV and an en-suite shower room with corner shower enclosure, hand basin, toilet, shaver point and heated towel rail.
Outside there is a landscaped rear courtyard garden with slate beds featuring a variety of plants with a paved patio area furnished with wicker style dining table and chairs. Positioned to catch the evening sun there is a raised decking area with a pergola complete with a table and chairs. The Old Chapel accepts up to two well-behaved dogs. Parking is available on the street around the green. Your fuel, power, bed linen and towels are all included in the price.

Wimborne Minster, more often called Wimborne, is a market town near Poole and Bournemouth. The square is a hive of activity with a variety of shops and cafes. Browse down the side streets for the more traditional shops, or visit a farm shop and cafe outside of the town. The town has a large and well-established market that runs on a Friday, Saturday and Sunday. There are three pubs to choose from offering home-cooked traditional food.
The most famous attraction is Wimborne Model Village. Built over fifty years ago and 1/10th scale model that amazes its visitors from all over the world with its quality and realism. They also have an award-winning sensory garden, giant chess set, putting lawn, model railway gift shop and tea room. Every June the town hosts the Wimborne Minster Folk Festival which dates back to 1980. Regarded worldwide, the annual event of traditional folk dance and songs sees one of the largest gatherings. Dance teams and musicians from the South of England take part and this event usually attracts large crowds.
