Old Beams Lodge is a wonderful cottage located in the village of Burton, Christchurch. Hosting one double bedroom, and a shower room, this property can sleep up to two people. Inside you will also find a cloakroom, kitchen, and a lounge/diner, with the addition of a sofa bed. To the outside are off-road parking, a private enclosed patio area and use of the owners garden. Resting in a lovely setting with charming surroundings, Old Beams Lodge is a charming retreat in an excellent part of England.
Old Beams Lodge is located in the pretty village of Burton close to the River Avon and within walking distance of some top-class fishing which can be arranged for you by the owners if you so desire. The cottage gets its name from the three-hundred-year-old beams used in its renovation donated by the owner's cottage next door. The village itself boasts 5 pubs within walking distance of Old Beams Lodge and also has a village shop with some beautiful walks on your doorstep which can be enjoyed with your dog as the cottage accepts one well-behaved pet. Christchurch is just a 5 minute drive away along with 7 miles of sandy beach to choose from starting at Hengistbury Head and travelling all the way to Sandbanks. The World Heritage coastline is equalled by some seriously good countryside including the New Forest National Park just a few minutes drive away.
The accommodation at Old Beams Lodge comprises a lounge/diner with a double sofa bed, Freeview TV, WiFi and a selection of books, games and DVDs. The kitchen has an induction hob and electric oven, microwave, fridge and dishwasher. The bedroom is a double and there is a shower room with a basin. A separate cloakroom has a toilet.
Outside is a private, enclosed patio. There is off-road parking available. Your fuel, power, bed linen and towels are all included in the price.

Christchurch lies between the beautiful New Forest National Park and Bournemouth. Visit the area for the beaches which extend for four miles and are beautiful golden sand. The nearby villages of Highcliffe and Mudeford offer fantastic opportunities for crab fishing. Highcliffe Beach and Friars Cliffe are safe for swimming. The town has an array of shops in the pedestrianized Saxon square as well as a weekly market. Christchurch has a variety of cafes and pubs around the Quay, relax and soak up the tranquil atmosphere. Christchurch plays host to the Food and Wine Festival in May and has over 100 stalls. Join the atmosphere of the Music Festival on the first weekend of July. Catch the Annual Regatta held on the second week of August which ends with a superb fireworks display.
Activities and Attraction
Take a boat to the vast Nature reserve of Brownsea Island owned by the National Trust. Try Watermans Adventure Park catering for different age groups. Or, for family fun then Christchurch Quay and Splash Park cater for all ages. Adventure Wonderland is a great park catering to younger children. We have visited several times and it always goes down well and we stay until closing! Christchurch and Highcliffe Castle are a must for history lovers with Highcliffe Castle having a cafe to relax in after your tour.
