The Salterns is an elegantly designed waterfront townhouse situated in an enviable position within Salterns Marina, Lilliput. It offers direct water access and stunning sea views from every window. It also benefits from a private resident’s beach which is accessible from the rear of the property. As well as an excellent array of amenities right on its doorstep, it is ideally situated for easy access to Sandbanks and Poole Quay.

With many personal touches, the property is set over four floors and includes a beautifully designed open plan sitting room with a mezzanine dining area, several outside terraces as well as four luxurious double bedrooms, all of which have sea views and three have private balconies.

The elevated position of The Salterns means that the uninterrupted sea views across the lagoon towards Poole Harbour on one side of the property, and across the marina to Sandbanks on the other, differ from every room and become more impressive with each and every floor.

Salterns Marina is renowned for having some of the finest yachts in the area. The marina itself has many facilities including a chandlery and a coffee shop as well as a Jet Ski Safari. For summer 2021, a new outdoor bar with alfresco dining and various catering and retail outlets will be opened within the marina making it a fabulous base for a holiday.

Lilliput shopping parade is just a short, level walk away, where an eclectic mix of retail outlets can be found, including two surf shops, a specialist cycling emporium and cafe, a Thai restaurant, an artisan bakery, a hairdresser and two convenience stores by the way of a Tesco Express and a Coop.

For those wanting to make the most of the beautiful Sandbanks beaches, they are little more than a mile away; just a few minutes by car or 20 minutes on foot. The wider area is renowned for its leisure facilities and beaches with Poole & Bournemouth also just a few miles away. Cinemas, shopping and boating facilities are easily accessible and there is a championship golf course at Parkstone Golf Club which is located only a short distance away from Lower Parkstone.

The well-proportioned split-level west facing terrace has excellent lagoon and sea views with outside table and chairs plus recliners making this ideal for al-fresco dining or for relaxing and enjoying the long summer nights and watching the amazing sunset over the water. The upper terrace has a glazed balcony screen with a spiral staircase leading down to the lower terrace.

Second Floor Landing
The second-floor landing leads to the second and third bedrooms and the bathroom. A further staircase leads up to the third floor.
Bedroom 1 - With Harrison Spinks zip and link singles which can be made into a super-king, fitted wardrobe with sliding doors. Enjoying easterly elevation views across the marina towards Sandbanks.
Bathroom - The spacious second-floor bathroom services both bedrooms located on this floor and benefits from a white suite which comprises a panelled bath, a separate shower cubicle with a glazed shower door, a wash hand basin and a low-level W.C.

Third Floor Landing - The bright and spacious third-floor landing has doors leading to the master suite and fourth bedroom as well as the airing cupboard which houses the hot water cylinder. The third-floor landing also has a skylight window.
Bedroom 3 & Balcony - The third bedroom has a double bed and private balcony with seating which faces east across the marina and enjoys lovely views towards the Sandbanks peninsula.
Bedroom Master & Balcony - The large master suite with Harrison Spinks king-size bed boasts the most amazing views of the lagoon and towards Poole Harbour from its elevated west facing position. Benefiting from a private balcony with comfortable seating and an en-suite shower room.
En-suite - The master en-suite has a newly fitted contemporary suite comprising of a double shower cubicle with a glazed shower screen door and surround, a wash hand basin and a low-level W.C.


Externally the property boasts a variety of balconies and terraces to the front and rear elevations all of which have stunning sea views. The lower level garden terrace provides a beautiful alfresco dining area and direct water access to the lagoon and is laid to timber decking with a BBQ and timber steps leading down to the resident’s beach and the lagoon via a short pathway.

The lower level garden terrace is a split level with a further spiral staircase leading to the upper terrace with seating and the first-floor accommodation. Like the other rooms and balconies located at the rear, both the upper and lower terraces offer beautiful direct views across the water to the west and also provide a great outdoor space for entertaining.

The lower level garden terrace also leads to the ground floor outdoor wash down area. It has a heated outside shower with a tiled floor, making this an ideal spot to shower after a day on the water and to wash down wetsuits and water sports equipment.

Residents Beach: A small beach, accessible only from the lagoon side of the property, and not the marina, it can be tricky to get to at very high tide as the water come right up to the edge of the decking of the next few houses. It is sand, though does often have shells and seaweed on it. It’s not Sandbanks Beach but ideal for an hour of chilling/splashing etc. Sandbanks Beach is a 20-minute walk.

NOTE: Garden area not secure to the water's edge, young children must be supervised outside.


To the front of the property is access to the garage with a driveway providing off road parking and a secure outside store located under the external staircase which leads to the front door and the first-floor accommodation. One car can be parked on the driveway and a further two standard sized cars can occupy the garage.

The substantial garage occupies the whole of the ground floor and has a single electric powered garage door to the front with double doors to the rear leading to the wash down area. The garage houses the laundry appliances as well as sofas and a football table. The owners’ kayaks are available for use in the lagoon at your own risk.

Area Details


Poole is a large, pretty town, with so much to offer. It has a beautiful natural harbour that is the largest natural harbour in Europe. Across from Poole harbour is Brownsea Island. This is a Nature Reserve owned by the National Trust, with the north side of the Island managed by the Dorset Wildlife Trust. Only a small population lives on the island itself. The island has a castle a gift shop, a cafe, and an outdoor centre - you could be lucky enough to see one of the native red squirrels. The town has a vast number of shops, a shopping centre, supermarkets, a choice of restaurants, cafes and pubs.


Poole has four beaches (five if you include Sandbanks) that have won more Blue Flag awards than any other UK resort. The soft, golden sands are cleaned and raked every day of the year. Shore Road beach offers a gently sloping beach and safe, clean water. There is a launch zone for kitesurfers and windsurfers here. Canford Cliffs beach is a tranquil area with a steep, sandy cliff that is a haven for wildlife and is a great beach to relax on. Branksome Beach allows pets all year round. There is also a sandy harbour beach to visit at the nearby village of Hamworthy.


Summer Breeze on the Quay is a free music and firework event every Thursday in late July and August. Plus, every Friday evening is the Quay for my Car event that has a different theme each week, from Beetles to American muscle cars. Grooves on the Green is an annual music event in Parkstone, Poole with 2 music stages and entertainment. In addition, in the middle of June come and enjoy Paye Day, Poole's annual pirate day including the infamous Pirate Parade. Tower Park is a waterpark and swimming pool, cinema, bowling, soft play and bingo under one roof, making it a great visit for all the family all year round.
